Breast Rescue 41
- Breast Rescue (Revision)
This is a 46 year old Seattle Breast Rescue patient referred to us by her primary care physician to evaluate her firm, malpositioned breast implants. Patient received silicone gel implants 25 years ago which were placed sub glandular; or sometimes referred to as over-the-muscle. For several years she has been experiencing severe hardening of the implants, discomfort, as well as elevated positioning in the chest cavity. Her assessment indicated a grade-3 capsular contracture. To correct the problem it was necessary to perform an en bloc capsulectomy followed by a re-augmentation with new implants through an incision in the inframammary fold. Both silicone gel implants, including their capsules, were removed. The cavity was irrigated with antibiotic solution and new saline breast implants were placed sub-muscularly. Patient experienced a quick recovery and is very pleased with the shape and symmetry of her new breasts as well as the almost non-existent incisions.
