Men and women from all walks of life have come to Puget Sound Plastic Surgery to learn more about blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery). Seattle may be known for its coffee, but all the caffeine in the world won't make you look awake and vibrant if you have excess, sagging skin on you upper or lower eyelids. Eyelid surgery is an excellent choice for people who are in search of a lasting way to freshen and rejuvenate their eye appearance.
Blepharoplasty consistently ranks as one of the top five most popular cosmetic surgery procedures in the country. This is because it is a smaller surgical procedure that does not take a great amount of time and causes little discomfort, yet can provide significant cosmetic benefits. It is important to recognize, however, that the eye area is very delicate and that precision and experience in surgical technique is very important in achieving optimal results.
Devoted to providing personal care in a comfortable setting, Braden Stridde, M.D. is a board-certified plastic surgeon who looks forward to meeting you.

Dr. Braden C. Stridde works closely with every one of his eyelid surgery patients in Seattle / Tacoma to provide accurate, honest information and address every concern.
Your Blepharoplasty Surgery
Eyelid surgery at our practice can remove excess skin from the upper eyelid area or bulging fat pads from the lower eyelid. It is also frequently performed in conjunction with other cosmetic surgery procedures such as a Seattle face lift, brow lift, or laser resurfacing. By combining procedures, patients can avoid additional and surgeries and anesthesia, and minimize their overall down time.
Recovery after Surgery
Most people who choose blepharoplasty in the Seattle / Tacoma area enjoy a fast and comfortable recovery. Every patient experiences at least some swelling for several days, and light bruising usually does occur. The bruising and swelling can generally be concealed with makeup. You'll return to the office after a few days to have your stitches removed and review your progress.
Some people have dry eyes for a few weeks after their surgery which in most cases can be resolved with over-the-counter eye drops. Patients are usually ready to return to work within 5 to 7 days. Upper eyelid surgery incisions are hidden within the folds of the lids whenever possible to minimize visible scarring. Lower eyelid surgery can sometimes be performed through the inside of the lower eyelid, thus leaving no visible external scar.
Other Facial Surgery to Consider
Often, people will come to our office requesting upper eyelid surgery when they would actually obtain a better and more natural result with a brow lift procedure, or brow lift combined with blepharoplasty. In these cases, the eyebrow has descended under the effect of gravity and facial muscle action, thus pushing extra skin onto the upper eyelid.
By elevating the position of the eyebrows, Dr. Stridde can eliminate most or all of the appearance of excess skin above the eye. This will result in a much more refreshed appearance. When only eyelid skin is removed, the eyebrows may continue to move downward, and much of the benefit of eyelid surgery can be erased. Be sure that your surgeon is familiar with the full range of eyelid and brow lift procedures so that you can obtain the very best results from your surgery.
