Outpatient Surgery Center

Anyone considering undergoing a plastic surgery procedure should talk with their doctor directly to find out where their plastic surgery will be performed. Specifically, you should ask about the accreditation of any Surgery Center where you may have a procedure. The Seattle/Tacoma patients of Puget Sound Plastic Surgery P.S. can take complete comfort in knowing that their surgery is being performed in a Medicare Certified Outpatient Surgery Center. This is a highly demanding standard of certification and is the same standard that hospital-based surgery centers adhere to.

Unfortunately today some less qualified physicians will cut corners and attempt to perform significant surgical procedures in non-certified O.R. facilities. As a result, if you are considering cosmetic or reconstructive plastic surgery you need to ensure that any doctor you meet with has sufficient concern about your well-being to only use an accredited surgical facility.

All members of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons are required to report, on an annual basis, the type of accreditation of the surgical facility that they use. Surgeons who do not use accredited facilities cannot remain members in good standing. This is another example of how surgeons certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery continually strive to provide their patients with the highest standard of care.

In addition to the surgical facility, patients considering plastic surgery need to be informed about the type of anesthesia being administered and the qualifications of the anesthesia providers. While some procedures can be performed under conscious sedation, many plastic surgery procedures require a full general anesthetic for optimal safety and patient comfort.

Anesthesia services for our Seattle area plastic surgery patients are provided by the board certified anesthesiologists of Sound Anesthesia. This anesthesia group also serves the adjacent St. Francis Hospital, ensuring that the full spectrum of medical services is available next door should the need ever arise. This is just another way in which patients can feel assured that their care and safety is given the highest priority by Dr. Stridde and the staff at Puget Sound Plastic Surgery P.S.

When you add in the extensive experience and qualifications of our operating room and office staff, you should feel comfortable placing your trust in us while you are in our care.
