Laser Photorejuvenation
Photorejuvenation is a laser skin treatment in Seattle that uses light energy to reverse the effects of general aging and sun damage on the skin. A less intensive procedure than laser resurfacing, laser photorejuvenation is a non-invasive treatment that does not harm the skin, allowing for a shorter recovery time.
The number and frequency of treatments impacts overall results. At Puget Sound Plastic Surgery, we've found that combining laser rejuvenation with BOTOX® Cosmetic in Seattle helps our patients achieve a more satisfying result. Also, we may recommend other skin rejuvenation techniques to enhance your look. We continually refine our treatment protocols to ensure maximum cosmetic benefit.

Your Treatment
At Puget Sound Plastic Surgery, we perform Nlite laser treatments for Seattle / Tacoma residents. This innovative technology was specifically designed to pass through the surface of skin without causing any injury. There is essentially no recovery time needed, and while there is no immediate change visible on the skin surface, the laser has started the process of wrinkle reduction in the deeper layers of skin tissue.
The Nlite laser works by stimulating the microscopic blood vessels beneath the skin surface. These vessels produce a chemical messenger, which sends a signal to surrounding fibroblast cells to begin making new collagen. By laying down a new layer of collagen in the skin, the tissue is firmed and thickened and wrinkles begin to diminish.
It is important to remember that new collagen production takes time to get started and initial results will not be seen for about a month after your laser treatments in Seattle, with the final result not being seen until about three months. Our experience has shown that the final result is significantly enhanced if three laser treatments are performed approximately two to four weeks apart.
As part of our treatment protocol, we perform a microdermabrasion treatment prior to the laser treatment. This microdermabrasion not only helps smooth the skin surface, it removes the outer layer of dead skin cells, thus allowing the laser pass more easily into the deeper layers of the skin where it can work its effect on the microscopic blood vessels.
A Note on Wrinkle Reduction
Skin wrinkles develop over time as collagen and elastin fibers are lost within the deeper layers of the skin. This loss can be accelerated by other factors such as sun exposure, smoking, or dietary deficiencies. For these reasons, we always emphasize using sun block, avoiding smoking, and eating a healthy diet.
Wrinkle production is also greatly influenced by the actions of our facial muscles. This can easily be seen by looking in the mirror and smiling, frowning, or raising your eyebrows. You can observe how the facial muscles produce creases (wrinkles) in the skin surface when those muscles are activated (active wrinkles).
Because the action of facial muscles contributes to the production of wrinkles, we urge people to consider combining the use of BOTOX® Cosmetic in Seattle with their NLite laser treatment so that facial muscle activity is diminished while the laser begins the process of stimulating collagen. We offer financial incentives to combine BOTOX® Cosmetic use with the NLite laser because we feel that this enhances the results of the laser treatment.
Other Seattle skin care treatments such as the MicroLaserPeel™ or microdermabrasion treatments can be used as part of a comprehensive skin care program to give you beautiful, healthy looking skin.
