Your Treatment

Our practice offers a new approach to laser hair removal for Seattle / Tacoma residents – the Sciton laser. Using targeted laser light and computer-guided scanning, the Sciton laser can rapidly treat many hairs at once, reducing your treatment time and increasing comfort. Our hair removal laser works by selectively targeting hair follicles without damaging surrounding tissue.

The Sciton laser is effective on lighter skin types and is safer for treating darker skin types because of the low absorption of the light by melanin, the pigment in your skin. To successfully achieve long lasting hair reduction, most patients require five to six treatment sessions, each spaced approximately one month apart. Typically, about 60 to 85 percent of hairs in a treatment area are removed after all sessions are completed.

Most people who choose a Seattle laser hair removal procedure enjoy a quick recovery with minimal discomfort. Skin may appear slightly red and swollen for a few hours after each treatment, but any aftereffects should not prevent you from carrying on with your day's normal activities immediately afterwards. Be sure to wear a high-quality sunscreen on any treatment areas that will be exposed to sunlight to avoid undesirable pigmentation of the treated area.
